What is Interactive (in computer networking)?

A built-in identity in Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows NT that includes any user who has successfully logged on to the local server console. The operating system uses this group to enable the user who is logged on locally to access resources on the computer.

The name “Interactive” stems from the idea that the user who belongs to this group is “interacting” with the local computer through the console.

As with all system groups, administrators cannot directly modify membership in the Interactive group or the rights of the Interactive group.
